Three terrible videos from Sunday. Turn off your sound, my rotors sounded ridiculous after not being used since ABD last year.

Masters 35+ Men (caught tape in the drivetrain right after the start, so this is pretty boring since two of us are 30-45 seconds behind everybody) – https://youtu.be/iodiFybGTHA

Single Speed Men (fun race!) – https://youtu.be/s5I4LYdCSEI

Cat 3 Men (almost dead last, but the start is fun to watch) – https://youtu.be/ANkA8sEzPZk

Thanks again to Main Street Bicycles, CHI CX series, Kenny Labbe and many others for making things happen!

Thanks also to a few other racers from the CCC community that pitched in that wet Saturday to make this event work – also the officials and Kenny that helped the day run so smoothly.
Just a reminder that a lot of payouts went uncollected – you’ll have a chance to pick them up at the upcoming CCC races. If you prefer to donate your well earned funds, it will go to help out the great kids at West Town Bikes. Send me a note if you can.

    Photos!

Here ya go, folks–two different photographers with images from throughout the day. You can tell they were Main Street fans but hopefully they got a shot of you, too!

We promise there will be more Women’s photos next time. They had to run out the get an SD card on Sunday.

Thanks to everyone that came out! It was a lot of fun and we hope all of you enjoyed the racing.

Yesterday we walked the course and reseeded a few of the damaged areas. You’ll see flags in most of those spots.

We ask that you stay off the course proper and ride the fresh grass. We know you’ll inevitably have to cross over the course just, please, try not to corner hard on the damaged areas. Ride it 10 feet out of phase and you should be fine.

      Please spread the word!

Thanks Nick and Adam for the continued work AFTER the event. That can be the hardest time to keep slogging through on race related stuff.

What a fun course, fantastic organization and a great atmosphere!

Thanks Main Street for an awesome time on Sunday!! I can’t believe that we weren’t sloshing through mud all day (don’t worry I still crashed at least 3 times per race).

Here’s some videos from the men’s cat 3 and the single speed races:

Major props to the random spectator who helped me re-pin my number in the Cat 4/5 race after I took a spill and it managed to get eaten by the course tape on the first lap. Excellent course as well!

    That course sucked…

Sucked the life out of my legs! That peanut butter mud was gnarly. Mad props to the Squaches for setting that up in the downpour. See y’all in a week!

Sasquatch team: As a newer racer, I was a bit nervous about this course, especially after yesterday’s storms. However, it turned out to be great fun and very helpful for CX skills! I really appreciate the work you put into this race, and the conditions you endured to make it happen. Looking forward to this course again next year!

Hi all, of course i left my jacket at the start line during call up.. It was tossed into the Beverly Bike tent area. Just wondering if anyone picked it up. It is a Large Pearl iZumi black Wind Jacket. (Full Sleeve) It was nested within itself like a burrito.
***Kudos to MSB on a well executed event. You guys are my hero’s: setting that course in the rain yesterday.

Great job from Jeff and the Sasquatch team!
Just a thought…watching Supercross on tv from Vegas and they have two alternative lane choices on the course called a “joker lane”. Can’t recall if CCC race promoters have done this in the past, but it seems pretty cool. Thanks CCC for another great weekend!

Sunrise had a spot last year that was a choice. One had a log to bunny hop, the other was a bit longer but no log.

That was two or three years ago. Unfortunately that section is very overgrown now and difficult to navigate, but there may be something similar. Now you got me thinking….. 🙂

I second this inquiry from Scott. As a huge fan of AMA supercross and motocross, a joker lane would be a fantastic/challenging addition to any race in the CCC series. Each rider in each race is required to take the lane once through the race. Adds a new element to the race causes the rider(s) to not loose focus throughout the race. Might be something to think about for upper catagory races; perhaps cat 3, womens & mens 1/2/3 as scoring/monitoring would be a challenge for the larger fields.

Joker lane would be a nightmare to monitor for the race officials, I think in any category. 4/5’s forget it…
Maybe a split lane where one side is more technical/difficult and the other easier but longer would be a nice feature.

A “choose your own adventure” lane. This would be cool. Even if we had some wider lanes on big off camber sections (looking at you Woodstock) would be great. You see this in Euro courses a lot. Do I take the high line or do I go low?

We ran one in Woodstock 4-5 years ago. Wasn’t as popular or memorable as one would think.
